Local Program Reviews (LPRs) are an important component of ensuring appropriate application of provisions within the Erosion and Sediment Control Law for Localities Not Administering a Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Program, the Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Act, and their attendant regulations. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ or Department) performs LPRs to ensure consistency across the Commonwealth among Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Program and Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Program authorities and to assess which local programs may need a more comprehensive evaluation. LPRs are required by state law and may be found in the following sections, with emphasis added:  Va. Code § 62.1-44.15:52. Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Program (Effective July 1, 2024)
