Home MenuCatastrophic Loss Resources
The resources found on this webpage are intended for permitted poultry and livestock producers covered under the DEQ Animal Waste Program permits (VPA General Permit for Animal Feeding Operations and VPA General Permit for Poultry Waste Management), and non-permitted producers.
Recent winter storms have significantly impacted poultry and livestock producers across the Commonwealth. These impacts include the collapse of farm structures due to the heavy snow and ice loads as well as catastrophic losses of poultry and livestock. This webpage contains resources that will assist producers dealing with the aftermath of events that result in catastrophic losses.
Two fact sheets have been developed, one specifically for poultry producers and the other specifically for livestock producers. The fact sheets include information regarding mortality disposal, construction and demolition debris disposal, animal waste program permit requirements, construction general permit and stormwater requirements, and erosion and sediment control requirements.
