What happened to external links that were pointing to DEQ web pages?
All DEQ website URLs changed and all external URLs pointing to the DEQ website "broke."

We used a data-driven approach to this phase of the project, developing a revised website navigation structure based on feedback and testing from more than 1,000 survey responses from our staff, external stakeholders, and the public. The new menu is organized by program with shortcuts and multiple pathways to existing content.

Although URLs changed, we are implementing best practices to manage this transition by utilizing redirects and creating a custom error page with information on how to find what users are looking for. We are also undertaking an internal effort to update as many existing documents and platforms containing links to DEQ’s website, both internally and externally.

We understand that URLs changing and breaking may be frustrating when access to DEQ’s website and information is paramount for users. Here is an old-to-new URL crosswalk indicating which URLs are redirected.

Did DEQ change content on the website?
The focus on this renovation was on reorganization of existing content; however, DEQ programs may choose to consolidate, add, and/or remove content as needed.
