Lewis Creek PCB TMDL

Fish tissue monitoring was initiated by DEQ in 2001 for Lewis Creek, which is located in Staunton, Virginia. Following DEQ’s monitoring results, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) issued a fish consumption advisory in 2004 for some fish species found in the creek. Additional fish tissue monitoring followed in 2005, and then again in 2017. In preparation for the upcoming PCB TMDL study, additional PCB monitoring in the water column and creek bottom (sediment) occurred from 2017-2019.
