Local Area Planning Goals

As part of the Phase III WIP development process, EPA required the Chesapeake Bay jurisdictions to establish local area planning goals (LAPGs) for nitrogen and phosphorous.  The purpose of these LAPGs is to foster the development of more meaningful local programmatic actions for incorporation into the Phase III WIP.  EPA has provided the Bay jurisdictions with significant flexibility in determining how the LAPGs are set, the scale at which they are established and the form the goals will take.
