Hazardous Waste Transporter Permit

The legal requirement to obtain a permit for the transportation of hazardous waste was removed from the Virginia Waste Management Act during the 2014 Legislative Session and the Virginia Hazardous Waste Management Regulations have been amended effective August 27, 2014 to remove the associated requirements related to permitting of transporters. In addition, as of July 4, 2013, transporters are no longer required to submit a transporter annual report by April 1 of each year or to provide documentation of liability insurance. However, please note that all other applicable regulatory requirements under the Virginia Hazardous Waste Management Regulations as well as other applicable state and Federal laws and regulations will continue to apply to hazardous waste transporters.
