State Environmental Impact Reviews

Procedures Manual: Environmental Impact Review of Major State Facilities

Virginia Code §10.1-1188 requires state agencies to prepare and submit an environmental impact report (EIR) for each major state project. The Procedures Manual: Environmental Impact Review of Major State Facilities was prepared and distributed according to the requirements of Code of Virginia §10.1-1191, which directs the Department of Environmental Quality to develop procedures governing the preparation and evaluation of required EIRs for state projects.

DEQ has completed an update to the Procedures Manual that includes an EIR Determination Worksheet to assist state agencies in determining the need to submit an EIR.
