Beginner Paddler Route:

West out of Red Bank

Route Description:

Launch at the Red Bank boat ramp and head Right (West) up the creek. Please stay close to either side of the creek in order to avoid boat traffic. This winding route meanders through salt marshes and is protected from the wind by high ground and maritime forest. It is recommended that you take this paddle toward the end of an incoming tide in order to take advantage of the tidal currents and the increased water depth that will allow for access to the remote reaches of the creek. The creek will eventually dead-end at a causeway. This entire length of the creek is not always navigable, and paddlers should always pay attention to the effects of tide on the water depth in tidal waterways. Return to the launch point by retracing your route.
