The Virginia Green Travel Alliance (VGTA), a non-profit supporting green tourism and travel in Virginia, runs the Virginia Green certification program.  Visit the VGTA's page on Virginia Green Certification for more detailed information and to apply.

There are two Levels of Virginia Green Certification:

1. Virginia Green Commitment Level:  Members at the Commitment Level have made pledges to sustainable practices and have implemented basic sustainable practices, such as recycling and energy & water conservation.

2. Fully-Certified Virginia Green Partners: Fully-Certified Partners have implemented a required number of sustainable practices in various categories and the application process includes documenting the implemented practices.

Recertification is required every 2 years.  To become a Virginia Green Travel Partner, visit the Virginia Green Ready for Certification for either the Entry Level or Fully-Certified Partner application. For questions about the certification process contact VirginiaGreen@virginia.org or Tom@GreenerResults.com.
