Agriculture
There are several programs within the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality that involve the agricultural community. In addition, the DEQ partners with other state and federal agencies to deliver ag-related programs. These agencies include the VA Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, the VA Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Environmental protection related to Virginia’s agricultural activities is achieved through a combination of regulatory and voluntary programs.
