Biosolids Land Applicator Certification Training and Exam
In order to maintain this certification, the land applier must complete four (4) Continuing Education Hours and submit a completed Application for Renewal of Biosolids Land Applicator Certification form and the fee of $100 prior to the expiration date of the certificate.

The DEQ Office of Land Application Programs is offering two 2-day sessions to certify biosolids land applicators. The sessions consist of one and a half days of classroom work followed by a written examination. Biosolids Land Applicator Certificates will be issued to each successful applicant in accordance with § 62.1-44.19:3.1 of the Virginia State Water Control Law which states that all biosolids land application activities be conducted under the supervision of a certified land applicator.
This training course is now one and a half days in length with the exam scheduled for the afternoon of the second day.

Day 1
8:30 a.m. Onsite-registration
9:00 a.m. Class begins
5:00 p.m. Class dismissed
Day 2
8:30 a.m. Class begins
2:00 p.m. Exam offered
Lunch will be on your own.
Certification Course Registration and Fee

The fee for those individuals seeking certification is $100. Please make your check or money order payable to: Treasurer of Virginia.

Course Registration for Local Monitors and Continuing Education Credit Hours
- Local Monitor Training will be offered during the sessions listed above.
- Continuing Education Credit Hours will be offered on the first day of the course.
There is no charge for the local monitor training and continuing education credit hours.
