Valley Region's First TMDL Implementation Workshop

Welcome Address

On February 24, 2006, DEQ's Valley Region held the first TMDL Implementation Workshop to focus on water quality and conservation issues facing the Shenandoah Valley. The workshop was designed to bring Valley stakeholders together to learn from one and other's experiences in tackling water quality issues in their own communities and working on implementing TMDLs. A total of 64 people were in attendance, with broad representation from state and local agencies, local government, non-profit organizations and community watershed groups.

Implementation Project Progress

The goal of TMDL implementation is to restore water quality in impaired watersheds. To gage progress toward this goal, DEQ tracks Best Management Practice (BMP) installations and continues to monitor water quality in the impaired watersheds.

DEQ and partner agencies are making progress towards the goal of improving water quality in the Commonwealth. To see what progress has been made to date, scroll down to view TMDL Implementation status reports.
