Environmental compliance - Nutrient management
DCR's Nutrient Management Program works with landowners and managers to address nutrients found in fertilizers, manure, municipal sewage sludge and other sources so that they are used in a manner that does not impair the quality of Virginia's ground and surface waters. State law requires that state agencies that apply nutrients to land do so in conformance with a nutrient management plan approved by DCR.
