The mission of the Norfolk Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (NCVB) is to generate economic growth for Norfolk by producing high volumes of visitor’s, tax revenues and travel related jobs. NCVB is the leading resource for marketing Norfolk as a traveler’s destination of choice. NCVB is affiliated with the “Norfolk Convention Connection”, which is composed of the Norfolk Waterside Marriott  and Waterside Convention Center, the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside, the Radisson Hotel Norfolk and the Waterside Festival Marketplace.  The Waterside Convention Connection offers over 1,000 rooms and suites, 55 meeting rooms and 121,000 square feet of convention space.  In addition, the nearby Norfolk Scope Arena provides an additional 85,000 square feet of meeting space.

NCVB plans to encourage hotels, conference facilities, restaurants, attractions and other tourism facilities throughout the City of Norfolk to participate in Virginia Green. NCVB currently leases its office space, but is implementing many environmentally-friendly practices on its own; and it is encouraging its landlord to implement various green practices as well.
