Lion and Crow Lodge and Cabins features six cabins and one lodge situated in the Shenandoah Valley in Luray, Virginia. The lodge has five bedrooms that sleeps up to 14 people and can be reserved with two or more of the smaller cabins for larger parties. Lion and Crow Lodge and Cabins is committed to environmental excellence and works to promote environmentally responsible practices and participation in Virginia Green.

- Sending out an email or mailer about Virginia Green
- Making an official Virginia Green endorsement though a Board or other committee to support Virginia Green
- Displaying the Virginia Green certificate prominently and using the Virginia Green window decals
- Using the Virginia Green logo on signage pointing out recycling and other “green” practices
- Highlighting involvement in Virginia Green on websites and including a link to the Virginia Green profile
- Having conferences at a Virginia Green Lodging facility
- Minimizing copying and always making 2-sided copies
- Eliminating the use of Styrofoam cups and plates. Using washable mugs instead.
- Using silverware instead of plastic utensils
- Using non-bleached napkins or maintain a supply of cloth napkins
- Serving water in pitchers and glassware, instead of plastic bottles.
- Avoiding box lunches
- Supplying recycling bins and taking recyclable to proper location
- Participating in the Shenandoah River Cleanup two times a year
- Participating in Adopt-a-Highway program for the last several years
- Recycling glass, aluminum cans, plastic, office paper, toner cartridges, newspaper, cardboard, packing supplies, fluorescent lamps, batteries, and electronic equipment
- Tracking overall waste bills
- Purchasing recycled-content paper towels and toilet tissue
- Encouraging suppliers to minimize packaging and other waste materials
- Purchasing from vendors and service providers with a commitment to the environment
- Using two-sided copying and printing
- Using electronic correspondence and forms

- Purchasing “low-VOC” carpets and fabrics
- Using reused building materials or those from sustainable sources
- Using latex paint, least toxic materials, and “green” cleaners

- Metering water flow to discover leaks and areas of high use
