By the Side of the Road is a historic bed and breakfast in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The main building is a large Flemish Bond brick structure built shortly after the American Revolution. The Bed and Breakfast features four main house suites and three cottage suites with fireplaces, featherbeds and whirlpools. Since inception in 1999, By the Side of the Road has been committed to environmental excellence and is pledged to continue developing new ways to preserve and protect the environment for our grandchildren a beautiful and clean and environmentally healthy Virginia for all time.
