The application period for the 2012 awards program is now closed.

Applications for the 2012 Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards will be accepted during October 14^th through November 30^th, 2011. Similar to last year, applications will be accepted in the following four categories: 

• Environmental Project, generally involving a single activity or process or several activities that are directed at one goal;
• Environmental Program, involving a variety or sequence of activities, processes, or goals, or an institutional or integrated approach to environmental protection;
• Land Conservation Project, completed during 2011; and,
• Land Conservation Program, recognizing exemplary land conservation programs within the Commonwealth.

Each applicant must have a record of sustained compliance.

All applications will be submitted on-line, although applicants are allowed to send supporting documentation separately. Sample, printable forms are available: Environmental Project, Environmental Program, Land Conservation Project, Land Conservation Program.
