Membership for Business for the Bay is divided into two categories: 

Members and Partners.

Members

Members are businesses, government facilities and other organizations in the Susquehanna and Potomac watersheds who pledge to prevent pollution through a variety of measures that reduce or elimanate waste at the source. In addition, businesses, government facilities and other organizations within the Chesapeake Bay airshed who pledge to prevent air emmisions through a variety of measures that reduce or eliminate air emmisions at their source may also join as Members. Members are eligible for consideration for annual Businesses for the Bay Environmental Excellence Awards.

Partners

Partners are organizations such as trade associations, citizen groups, and consultants that agree to promote pollution prevention and membership in Businesses for the Bay. Also, all organizations/facilities located outside the Susquehanna and Potomac watersheds that do not qualify as members. Partners are eligible for consideration to receive the Businesses for the Bay "Partner of the Year" award for environmental contributions annually.
