Upcoming DEQ, Operator Training Workshops


There is a 2-day "Introduction to Biological Nutrient Removal" workshop scheduled for September 16 - 17, 2008 at the City of Lynchburg wastewater treatment facility in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The cost of the workshop is $100 payable in advance by check or money order to the Department of Environmental Quality.

A program announcement and registration form can be found @ www.deq.virginia.gov/tptp/homepage under the "whats new" section (Summer 2008 workshop schedule).

Also, there are upcoming "Nutrient General Permit Reporting" workshops scheduled at various DEQ Regional offices as follows:

Northern Virginia(Woodbridge): August 28, 2008
South Central(Lynchburg): September 18, 2008
Tidewater(VA Beach): October 9, 2008
Valley(Harrisonburg): November 17, 2008
West Central(Roanoke): November 19, 2008

There is no registration fee for these half day workshops; However, persons wishing to attend are asked to register to ensure sufficient materials and space are available.

Space is limited so send your registration forms in as soon as possible.

There will be 3 one day sessions on wastewater pump maintenance sponsered by the Town of Christiansburg, the Gorman Rupp Co., and TENCARVA Machinery Co.
