DEQ, Activated Sludge Process Control Part II Workshop Opequon WRF
The DEQ, Operator Training Program will be conducting an Activated Sludge Process Control Part II workshop on July 28-30, 2009 at the Opequon Water Reclamation Facility in Winchester, VA.
This three day workshop will focus on basic and advanced process control strategies, process control calculations, data interpertation and process troubleshooting.
The program's hands on activities will include:
Analysis of operational data
Performing process control calculations
Using the data to adjust operating levels
Troubleshooting performance problems
Managers, operators and operator trainees of activated sludge treatment systems will find this program very helpful.
The workshop has been approved by the State Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals for 2.0 training credits.

DEQ, "Intro to BNR" Operator Training Class, Nansemond WWTP
There is a 2-day "Introduction to Biological Nutrient Removal" workshop scheduled for June 3 - 4, 2009 at the Hampton Roads Sanitation District, Nansemond WWTP.
The program will provide an introduction to the basic concepts associated with biological nutrient removal (nitrification, denitrification and biological phosphorus removal).
If you operate or manage a treatment system which includes biological nutrient removal or will be required to implement biological nutrient removal, this program will be helpful.
The cost of the workshop is $100 payable in advance by check or money order to the Department of Environmental Quality.
The program is recognized by the State Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and On-Site Sewage System Professionals for 1.2 training credits.
