      <description>&lt;br&gt;The DEQ, Operator Training Program will be conducting an Activated Sludge Process Control Part 2 workshop at the following dates, times and locations&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;May 14 &amp;amp; 15, 2013 (8:30am - 4:30pm)at the Massaponnax WWTP in Fredericksburg, VA&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;May 21 &amp;amp; 22, 2013 (8:330 am - 4:30pm) at the HRSD Offices in Virginia Beach, VA&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;These two day workshops will focus on basic and advanced process control strategies, process control calculations, data interpretation and process troubleshooting. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The program's hands on activities will include: &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Analysis of operational data &lt;br&gt;Performing process control calculations &lt;br&gt;Using the data to adjust operating levels &lt;br&gt;Troubleshooting performance problems &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Managers, operators and operator trainees of activated sludge treatment systems will find this program very helpful. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The workshop has been approved by the State Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals for 2.0 training credits. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Up to 14 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Contact Hours will also be given for completion of the workshop. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Cost of the workshop is $150 payable by check or money order.       <description>&lt;br&gt;The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)Operator training program will be presenting the &amp;quot;Wastwater Math for Operators&amp;quot; workshop at the Chesterfield County, Proctors Creek WWTP on January 15 - 16, 2013 from 8:30am - 4:30pm. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The workshop provides hands on instruction in performing wastewater treatment related calculations.       <description>The DEQ, Operator Training Program will be conducting a Wastewater Small Plant Testing workshop on November 27-28, 2012 (8:30am - 4:30 pm) at the DEQ Blue Ridge Regional Office in Roanoke, VA. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This two day workshop will focus on topics of specific interest to small (&amp;lt;40,000 gpd) treatment facility owners and operators. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Hands on activities will focus on requirements and procedures for on-site effluent testing and will include: (a) performing the dissolved oxygen (D.O.) test using a D.O. meter; (b) performing the total residual chlorine using a direct readout DPD colorimetric procedure; (c) performing the pH test using a pH meter and electrode(s). &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The program will also include discussions of determining composite sample volumes, sample collection and preservation methods, recordkeeping, quality assurance/quality control requirements, completion of the discharge monitoring report, selection of a contract laboratory, and sources of assistance. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Managers, operators and operator trainees of small activated sludge treatment systems will find this program very helpful. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The workshop has been approved by the State Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals for 1.0 training credit. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Up to 14 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Contact Hours will also be given for completion of the workshop. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The workshop registration fee is $100 per person paid by check or money order. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;To register, download and complete the registration form at http://www.deq.virginia.gov/Programs/Water/WastewaterAssistanceTraining/WastewaterTreatment.aspx and mail to address listed on form.
