Virginia River of Words Contest

What You Need to Know to Enter....

What is the River of Words Contest? Sparked by Poet Laureate Robert Hass, this poetry and art contest invites children to explore their own watersheds and express what they learn in words or images.
When is the deadline? U.S. postmarked before February 15, 2000. Artwork cannot be returned.
Is there an entry fee? No.
Can kids submit more than one piece? Yes, they can submit as many as they wish, however each entry must have a separate application form.
Where can I get an entry form? Fill out the entry form below or visit the International River Network's website at http://www.irn.org/row/row.html. Entries sent to IRN are forwarded to Virginia for state judging.
What if I win? Winners will be recognized at an official ceremony in the Spring at the state Capitol in Richmond.
How does a child enter? Simply mail poem or/and art along with completed entry form below to:
