13th Annual Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards

Winners of the 2008 Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards were announced at the 2008 Environment Virginia Conference in Lexington on April 2. The Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards are supported by Virginia's Governor, the Secretary of Natural Resources, the Department of Environmental Quality, the Department of Conservation and Recreation and other partner organizations. There are three categories of awards: Environmental Project, Environmental Program and Land Conservation. Awards are given to business and industrial facilities, government agencies and individuals.
The judges for this program were selected from business, universities, government, and the community. These judges review each application and evaluate it against specific criteria. Applicants may receive gold, silver and bronze recognition.
