Environmental Educators Leadership Program
The Environmental Educators Leadership Program (EELP) develops and enhances the professional skills and abilities of Virginia educators for the protection of the environment. This program can serve as a roadmap for developing skills needed to teach about the environment.
Once enrolled, participants in the EELP will receive:
- Free professional training opportunities
- Access to state sponsored resources and events
- Tools for self-assessment
- Resources for developing professional learning communities
Who can benefit from participating in the EELP?
- Volunteer and paid educators can use this guide to expand abilities and leverage resources through participation in a professional learning community.
- Following this program will allow organizations to consistently train new staff and will provide an outline for professional development and growth.
- Teachers can also benefit from following this framework to enhance their capacity to deliver standards-based environmental education material.
- Submit your application for the Environmental Educators Leadership Program.
- Download and read the Educator Profiles and Personal Tracking Record.
- Complete the Self-assessment to begin tracking your growth as an educator.
- Begin filling in your own Personal Tracking Record for the educator you want to be!
Participants interested in working with others are welcome to enroll in the 2008 class. Please email David Ruble at dnruble@deq.virginia.gov to receive your enrollment application. |
