Community meeting at Piedmont Regional Office

About two dozen people attended the Department of Environmental Quality’s community meeting for Virginia’s Piedmont region on October 11, 2005. Participants at the meeting, held at DEQ’s Piedmont Regional Office in Glen Allen, included area residents and representatives of local and federal governments and environmental organizations.

The theme of the meeting was “Get involved with your environment.” Participants discussed urban development, water quality, waste management and recycling rates.

The meeting was one of seven held in 2005 as part of DEQ’s community involvement initiative to increase understanding of how DEQ operates, identify issues that are a priority in each region of Virginia and enhance opportunities for community involvement in environmental activities in Virginia.
