Project Title:

Seaside Heritage Program Coordination - Year 2

Project Description as Proposed:

The focus of year 2 , in general, will be to complete the structure of the comprehensive seaside inventory and continue adding data, continue oyster reef and grass bed restoration, continue targeted Phragmites removal and predator control, continue development of the ecotourism infrastructure and continue assessment of habitat suitability for waterbirds and aquaculture. New in Year 2 will be the establishment of a "Shorekeeper" position. The Seaside Heritage Program - Year 2 will consist of 12 subtasks, 4 of which are Scetion 306A restoration or construction projects. 306A documentation will be submitted for these tasks prior to January 31, 2004. The Seaside Heritage Program will ultimately result in a framework for long term habitat restoration and use conflict resolution.
