Project Title:
Management of Virginia's Coastal Resources Management Program
Project Description as Proposed:
This task covers
aspects of managing the Virginia Coastal Program and administering
its grants. Management activities include: policy development /
coordination / implementation in collaboration with the Coastal
Policy Team; monitoring of core agency activities; updating the
Program as needed through RPCs and Amendments; addressing the 312
findings resulting from the August 2003 review. The Coastal Program
Manager will spend significant time guiding activities under the
new focal area: Task 12 - Seaside Heritage Program. In addition,
the Coastal Program Manager will supervise Coastal Program staff
within Tasks 1, 1.1 and 2. The Task 1 Coastal Planner will spend
significant time co-managing the Coastal Nonpoint grants with DCR
and overseeing the Dragon Run SAMP
Grant administration activities include: development, monitoring
and reporting of all grants (Sections 306/306A, 309 and 6217) for
all open and closing out grant years (FY '00, '01, '02 and ‘03);
development of "Quick Response Grants"; development and
submittal of reprogramming and extension requests; and development
of the FY '04 award.
