Project Title:
Parson's Tract Acquisition for Kiptopeke State Park Addition, Northampton County - Part 2
Project Description as Proposed:
Will protect approximately 50 acres of land on the Chesapeake Bay in Northampton County. Three tracts of land are in the project area, and will represent significant additions to DCR's existing Natural Area Preserve. The area proposed for acquisition includes outstanding Chesapeake Bay beach and dunes systems, coastal maritime forest, exemplary migratory songbird habitat, and habitat for the federally threatened Northeastern beach tiger beetle. The property will be protected from conversion to other uses through the purchase of conservation easements.

Final Product Received:
Copy of the deed of the property (the Parson's Tract) along with a color printout of the map of the property, a color printout of an aerial photograph of the property, and four color photographs of the sign crediting acquisition of the property partly to DEQ, Virginia Coastal Resources Management Program, NOAA, the Coastal Zone Act of 1972, the Trust for Public Land, the Eastern Shore Planning District Commission, and Northampton County.
