Project Title:

Tributary Nutrient Reduction Strategy Coordination and Technical Support

Project Description as Proposed:

Will assist Westmoreland and Richmond counties in updating environmental portion of Comprehensive Plans, including maps and analysis. To help State meet itsTributary Nutrient Reduction Gap goals, a High Priority Total Non-Point Source Pollution watershed, Hydrologic Unit E23, (VA Watershed Assessment Report, DCR-DSWC, 1996) will be analyzed, and an updated (1994) land use layer created. VirGIS Water Quality Index and Highly Erodible Land computer modeling procedures will be run and maps produced, aiding the local SCS to target areas for NPSP education and BMPs. Update the NNPDC's 1994 Shoreline Inventory to include shorelines hardened since 1994. Coordinate with Middle Peninsula PDC in data collection, logistical support, and locality liaison to assist State in nutrient reduction in the lower Rappahannock River.
