Project Title:

Virginia Center for Urban Riparian Restoration-- Difficult Run Model in the Coastal Zone

Project Description as Proposed:

To compile information gained from previous VCRMP grant reforestation and restoration experiences and make it available for use in other coastal zone watersheds. Continue with a broader scope that would include 1) sharing project development, implementation and management experiences with other coastal zone resource managers, 2) promoting the "rain garden" bioretention concept as an aspect of riparian resource protection for coastal zone jurisdictions, 3) developing uniform monitoring and evaluation techniques to track riparian reforestation projects as a coastal zone coordinated effort.
