Virginia Coastal Zone Management Strategic Plan

Project Description as Proposed:

IIEN will develop a multi-year strategic plan for the Virginia Coastal Program. A preliminary, "key issues" paper will be developed for discussion. An options paper will then be developed from the issues framework discussion. The options paper will present a variety of potential scenarios for program direction and structure. A series of facilitated focus group meetings will be conducted by IEN to discuss the Coastal Program and provide ideas and comments on the options. A draft strategic plan will be developed based upon the combined recommendations of the focus groups. Notice of availability of the plan and opportunity for public comment will be published. IEN will facilitate a public meeting/open house on the draft plan and revise the plan to incorporate agencies and public comment and submit the final to DEQ for review and approval and finally for NOAA approval.
