Brownfields Wanted

DEQ Brownfields logo

DEQ's Brownfields Land Renewal program provides opportunities for business and industry to develop properties that are under utilized because of real or perceived environmental issues. Incentives and reduced liabilities offered through this program can make brownfield property development a cheaper option than purchasing and building on undeveloped land.

Brownfields Wanted: If you have abandoned or under used commercial or industrial properties with real or perceived contamination (excluding petroleum) with potential for redeveloment or reuse, you may be eligible for the Brownfields Land Renewal assistance. The Virginia Brownfields Assessment Program provides the Site Screening as a free service to localities with qualifying sites.Find out more information about Site Screening criteria by clicking here. If your property qualifies, you can download a Brownfields Assessment Program application in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format and send the completed application to:

P&L Investments, LLC is a Washington, D.C.-based investor in brownfields nationwide. P&L's remediation experience is significant, ranging from asbestos landfills to PCB-contaminated superfunds sites. P&L converted one superfund site near Philadelphia to a residential development, which EPA highlighted in their newsletter.

P&L receives brownfields from a number of corporate owners, whereby P&L remediates the environmental issues and redevelops the site. In some cases, P&L pays an agreed fee to the previous owner upon P&L's sale of the property. P&L manages properties ranging from abandoned gas stations in Lubbock Texas to old industrial parks in Waterbury Connecticut.

P&L's aggressive management of environmental issues limits the liability of the previous owners, because P&L typically eliminates the previous contamination. As a mid-Atlantic based company, P&L is aggressively seeking properties in Virginia. Please visit www.PandLInvestments.com; 202 337 7300.

Ecologic Realty Remediation, LLC located in Charlottesville, Virginia, is actively looking to remediate or acquire then remediate the biggest, dirtiest petroleum-impaired land, buildings, or operating facilities on the east coast using our patented remediation technology and private funds.

If we remediate a petroleum impaired property, the work is guaranteed to the clean up target assigned by regulators. Because our patented technology costs less, we can add value over conventional petroleum-cleanup technologies and pay more for petroleum impaired property. If we acquire a property, we insure the previous owner against petroleum contamination liability.

Our system can be installed while the business is operating with minimal inconvenience to the owner. It operates without being seen until the contamination is removed. Our bioremediation method provides a cost effective method of removing contamination even in crowded, confined, or other difficult situations, leaving the business in operation during remediation. The non-toxicity and minimal disturbance of our system makes it the preferred choice for petroleum remediation in most locations.

We bring value back to properties whether we contract to clean for the owners, or we purchase the property with private funds. Proof of a clean property makes borrowing money much easier and a clean property yields a higher sales price.
